Horton Branch
My dad was John Horton Sloss, and his grandmother was Kate Horton Sloss. She was the daughter of Benjamin Horton, who is a direct descendant of Barnabas Horton, who settled at Southhold, Long Island with his family in 1640. His family grew and prospered, and there is a lot of genealogy info about this family on the internet.
During her retirement in Tryon, North Carolina, Kate Horton Sloss wrote her memoirs "My Forty Years in Old Mexico", which cronicled her life as a coffee grower and then exporter in Jalapa, Mexico.
